My Approach
My Approach / Philosophy
I’m a Certified Mental Performance Consultant®️ and professional member of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association. Additionally, I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor in good standing with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. My Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees are in counselling and psychology from Athabasca University and UBC, respectively.
I’m a former soccer goalkeeper, referee, coach, and all-around enthusiast of sport and movement. I became interested in psychology as a teen through a coach and mentor of mine and later learned I could pursue both! I then started Edge Counselling and Consulting to promote mental health awareness and understanding across athletes, performers, supporters, and the general population. Through addressing mental health and related skills, I believe individuals and teams can unlock increasing levels of potential.
Overall, I believe in helping individuals discover who they truly are so they can achieve their bravest and most optimal goals. My approach with clients includes warmth, compassion, and practical strategies to create significant change. Whether you feel alone, misunderstood, or simply want help to achieve more for yourself, I would love to connect and establish a good fit to achieve your goals together!

Counselling
Counselling is targeted for mental health concerns relating to aspects of life outside of sport: stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, disordered eating, relationships, grief, ADHD/Autism coping, and life transitions. This could be an appropriate service for an individual asking, “I know something’s wrong, but where do I even start” or “I’ve got a diagnosis/diagnoses, but what do I even do about them?”

Consulting
Consultation is targeted for similar mental health needs and how they specifically impact sport and performance. Specifically, consultations are for enhancing existing strengths, supports, and skills using professional support and goal-setting. This could be appropriate for an individual asking, “what should I do if there’s nothing actually wrong or big that I’m dealing with that would need therapy?” or “what do I do to bounce back after mistakes or get past this plateau I’ve been experiencing?”
